I invested in a shitcoin called USD in 2013 and now it's worth a lot less. I invested in BTC in 2016 and now it's worth a lot more. Positives and negatives to fiat and crypto and none are immune to having issues.

Literally yes. There wouldn't be a fiat currency to fluctuate against.
