The animated footer is amazing.

It's an interactive Voronoi Diagram: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voronoi_diagram

100 euros seems a bit too much for me, especially that I'm not interested in Javascript, but I would love to get in touch with the hacker's community here in Paris.

Does anyone know how or where can I get to know them? What are the upcoming conferences happening in the area? What are the active communities?

Sylvain and I (dotJS organizers) also organize Hacker News meetups in Paris => ParisHackers.org, that's a good start ;)

Otherwise, check on http://bit.ly/LIoLrMCOPY and https://www.eventbrite.com/home/ for other meetups (Realtime Communication, PHP, Java, Craftmanship, MongoDB, etc.)

The bit.ly link is broken :/

Bummer! Basically it was the link you got after going on http://www.meetup.com/find/ and searching for tech events (it's an item on the sidebar) in Paris, France.

100 euros is excellent value for this kind of event.

That said, you can keep an eye on conferences and events in Paris by subscribing to the RSS or iCal feed of our Paris page on Lanyrd: http://lanyrd.com/places/paris/

I did not mean to say that 100 euros is too expensive for the conference, but that I am not willing to pay this amount of money simply to get introduced to the hacker scene here in the city.

Also, thanks for Lanyrd, it does seem to answer my needs, and good luck with your venture :)

I am too,

sometimes I go to Gaîté Lyrique / Mains d'Oeuvre / La Cantine for art&code

there is also a javascript mailing parisjs@googlegroups

keep in touch if you want to meet&hack:)

There's LeWeb in december: http://www.leweb.co/

That's not what I would consider to be a hackers community. Attendees are mostly business guys and the ticket costs more than €1000.

LeWeb isn't really for hackers (just look at the price...)

We do a Hacker News meetup called http://parishackers.org Next meetup should be on June 28th!

I've read somewhere about Vim meet-ups at the Mozilla offices. I would really like to attend but I couldn't find any info.

The only information available online is on http://mozfr.org/pipermail/tuppervim/

I encourage you to contact one of those guys.

Thank you.

100 Euros is cheap compare to other Paris tech conferences (who often cost more than 500 Euros)

Mr. Doob? What an interesting nom de plume...

;-)

For those who don't know him, he's the creator of Three.js and made great JS demos like http://ro.me or http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com

Three.js is amazing all demos are here : http://mrdoob.github.com/three.js/

this looks great. Any chance we can get a schedule of the talks? I didn't find them on the website.

Sessions should run from 9am to 6pm with gates opening at 8am but we don't have a precise schedule yet.

Unfortunately, talks are not scheduled yet.

The google map on the venue page is a bit too large for mobile browsers. Once you scroll down too far, the map takes over the screen and it's no longer possible to navigate the page.

Thanks for the feedback, I've reduced the height of the maps.
