I made up a list of favorite pieces (that also happen to be piano pieces, or have piano reductions) and just made a subset of the ones in the more relaxing vein. You will probably enjoy the orchestral versions.

YMMV, of course, and some composers wrote so much that I haven’t gone through their works yet. I’ll make a new paste when I update it, now that I made the first version. Pieces that get a bit loud in places are called out.

It would be a real challenge to make a shorter list!


was expecting mostly pre 19th century, but good list: Bill Evans, Gymnopedie, JSB Cello suite. Recently i've been doing Bartok, SHosta, Ives, minimalists, Ligeti, Messiaen, Varèse, Hindemith, you know the kind of stuff not often described as relaxing
