I saw Turandot performed in San Francisco and the scene with Nessun Dorma was amazing. The stage was lit perfectly and really made it seem like it was the middle of the night under moonlight next to a river. The cast was absolutely enormous. It's the only opera I've ever seen, so I'm not sure if that's normal or not, but I swear there was like 80 people on stage.
That said, the whole story is completely messed up!! The two most horrible people end up together at the end.
