I keep reading about this and it makes me want an invite :(

It’s a very effective way of hyping the service! It kind of reminds me of the early invite only days of gmail.

or like clubhouse.... people get bored of waiting to get invited and move on, and the services dies.

i got an account, and was excited at first but its just another clone. mastodon, bluesky and every other is just the same. sure, you can have your own server, node, instance, whatever but your average joe does not understand nor care. so its just clones.

the only interesting ones, but not exactly whats needed if you ask me, is substack notes and www.hey.com/world/
