Amazon is taking half of each sale from its merchants (seattletimes.com)

I try to avoid merchants on Amazon preferring to buy sold and shipped by Amazon even if it costs more. At minimum it needs to be fulfilled by Amazon. I've just had too many troubles with merchants.

The last one was I tried to buy a smart phone that was shipped by the merchant. Well it never arrived, which happens with packages but I had to wait 15 days before they would do anything. Then they said oh golly that sucks let's have FedEx trace the package and we'll get the results in another 14 days. I told them no thanks I'll just use Amazon AtoZ and get my money back.

It's like they failed to understand that all I wanted was my product and it could easily be seen it was never delivered. When it didn't arrive in 3 days they should have offered to ship another. That's what Amazon would do.

I feel bad that small merchants get squeezed out but a lot of it is their own fault providing a worse experience than a faceless corporation.
