This looks interesting. I'd be very interested to see some benchmarks between this and openresty using lua.

That's irrelevant to Lua/Ruby embedded in Nginx I'm afraid

I didn't get the impression OP was claiming to be the first server-side mruby interpreter, but rather one that integrates with nginx. Since h2o appears to be its own httpd implementation, that makes switching off of nginx costly if a shop is heavily invested in nginx either because of other components or because of organizational knowledge/expertise
