It had not made headway against the administration of Shanghai by others, but it was a considerable factor in China, wasn't it?

And "mimetic escape"?

The KMT fought (and mostly lost) a lot of battles against the Japanese in the 1930s and 1940s. I'm not sure where the collaboration comes in.
