I had a much more recent update in this now decade-long adventure: http://www.chrisfenton.com/digital-archaeology-part-2/

Although this one was a lot less work than the first attempt. My original 1/10-scale Cray-1 is actually now sitting in the Computer History Museum!

I have seen it and it is impressive too, but the link in submission was the one that really knocked me off my feet.

When I have started reading the article I was like "he will abandon this, it is just to complex task for a hobby project", but it just kept on going...

It goes into category "I cant understand where you find the time".

Really impressive work, keep on pedaling. :)

Can't wait for the Computer History Museum to re-open - moved to Palo Alto this summer and been checking the site weekly waiting for the happy news that I can visit! The Cray-1 is on the list of things I want to see too. Awesome job :)

They had set the last weekend of January to reopen for weekends only. Then of course the ommy-cron arrived, and now it's "hang tight we will reevaluate week by week".

Check the other links on his page, like why he went trough all this.

Creating 1:10 model of Cray-1 and he needed software for it. This is what I call devotion. :)
