Is there some significance to the number five? I assume that's just a rule of thumb of where the true root arises, but no one seems to be questioning this seemingly arbitrary number.
I think this is typically the number where one comes to the actual root/s of a problem. If you get there in 3, I don't think anyone would decree it as a violation of the technique.
