I don't think they implied that. I doubt OP meant anything by it; they also refer to their "good" friends, do you also question whether OP is ignoring suicide when it happens to (children of) ordinary friends?
The distiction between sons and daughters is interesting though, because women are statistically much more likely to attempt suicide, whereas men are more likely to succeed at it.
"Please respond to the strongest plausible interpretation of what someone says, not a weaker one that's easier to criticize. Assume good faith."
"Eschew flamebait. Avoid unrelated controversies and generic tangents."
"Please don't pick the most provocative thing in an article or post to complain about in the thread. Find something interesting to respond to instead."
Edit: you've been breaking the site guidelines a ton lately. That's not cool, and will eventually get your account banned. If you'd please review the guidelines and stick to them when posting here, we'd appreciate it.
This is the same Python that you can't even use for any projects at all.
Python dependencies break if you even so much as rub two brain cells together wrong. I have wasted weeks of my life trying to get x python library to work with y and I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible. I have no idea how people use this god forsaken programming language. I guess they just keep everything in one monolithic .py file and pray to God that python doesn't do some shit in the background that makes even that fail (which it has done to me).
It's no surprise that this amount of bureaucracy goes on behind the scenes as well. The entire language is held together with duct tape and Van der Waals forces.
All changes can have screwups; but a lot of these are moving things around and fairly mechanical infrastructure changes; so it shouldn't be that dangerous.
It is not a code change per-se as much as a change to how the files are built.
Think of it like changing the order around of how you cook a fine meal and putting a few tricks all senior chefs know into the recipe explicitly. No ingredients were added or removed, do poison doesn’t get accidentally added.
So what the Canadian government is they would rather kill you with blood clots than let you take a 1/1000 chance of dying from a terror weapon made by the Chinese.
Hey, Microsoft, it's not your fucking job to serve ads. It is not your fucking job to be the middleman for payment transactions. Your only job is to provide an operating system.
Aren't retailers still paying for licenses? Or there's some easier way to get keys as a business?
I noticed even shops that sell refurbished computers will shove Windows 10 into them, I always thought it was around 10-20 bucks for a license, so that later they can charge us 90-100 for a computer with windows...
I cannot understand Blender's inanely arcane interface
Every tutorial out there seems to be for a drastically different version where half the shit no longer works in the current one without delving into more and more hidden menus
Every feature is its own labyrinth of menus, every model downloaded seems to be customized to a unique version with nothing similar to another
It is massively disheartening to try to comprehend video tutorials when they're pressing keyboard shortcuts at 20k wpm without explaining them and scouring over every detail trying to understand what they're doing turning an hour long tutorial into a day of confusion
I made a shitty donut and don't even know how I did, that's it
It's a powerful tool and it takes time and effort to learn. I was in the same boat as you when I started, but after ~3 years of using Blender more or less daily I find the UI very intuitive and powerful.
One of the nice things about having a very active community is that there's always new tutorials being made, often at the beginner level, on the very latest versions.
Sounds like blender might not be for you. Personally I'm super happy with the new UI they revamped a year or so ago in 2.8 (which has barely changed since then). Plus there are tons of great YT videos at all skill levels for inspiration and help. Geometry nodes has been incredible for procedural modeling and I love the direction they're going with it!
They constantly make small changes to the UI to improve it. These are good-faith changes aimed at making things clearer, easier to use, and more consistent overall.
Since I use blender a lot I can absorb these changes easily. If you're not using it very often it might be harder. However, I'd contest the idea that the "UI changes every month" since there are usually only two or three releases a year.
I am convinced that the relationship between American universities and its public are entirely untenable. There is no reason to give them any money as their goals are not to educate people. I have no sympathy for anybody that goes to a university and accrues a massive amount of debt anymore. The general assumption now is that people who went to these toxic places did so fully knowing that they will be lied to about economic prospects and brainwashed into believing a certain brand of racist wokeism.
I do not offer any solutions to this. The only solution I can see involves some form of violent and total destruction of these institutions. It would also require a building of new that absolutely forbid all parties involved with the old institions from even contacting the people involved with the new ones. I do not know what this will entail. There is no means of peaceful transfer of power away from these virtue signalling sycophants and toxic soulless wretches.
You will have to demonstrate how a social media platform that hasn't even launched yet has "discriminated againt marginalized communities". They haven't.
Was it only daughters that attempted suicide? What about sons?
With this language, you are implying the life of a woman is worth more than a man's. Why?
