It makes me sad to hear that Daimler - or any other large company that can afford better pays something for WITCH companies

so much salt!

>nah. i’ve heard the cross-cloud argument multiple times and it does not hold any water.

This, I use terraform every day at my work and I really like it compared to cloudformation but I never understood the cross-cloud advertisement. If I deploy, say, RDS cluster and Kinesis streams with terraform, how on earth is it cross platform?

See my other comment. It's not about a single resource working across providers, but the ability to reference resources across providers and linking them together. Think Cloudflare pointing to AWS endpoints.

Could this be used to create HW RNG?

yes totally. There is a great DIY project for doing that https://www.fourmilab.ch/hotbits/ It's not required to have the particle energy measured for making random numbers, detecting precisely the arrival time of particles is more important plus having a high hit rate is usually desired. My DIY detectors are not optimized in that way but it would work in principle. Timestamps are already recorded by the python scripts on github, it would be just a matter of evaluating them.

It's a DNS server so it has no way of knowing the bandwidth usage of the clients, the traffic is not flowing trough the pi-hole, it just responds to the DNS queries sent to it by the clients.

This is nice! I have been baking my own bread for a while now in a large masonry oven, it takes a while to learn when the temperature in the oven is right and the dough is good. Baking bread is more an art than science IMO. You learn it by doing it, this is a nice starting point.
