I don't want to tinker at all. I just want to get some work done. That is why I run Debian stable. Back when I first installed Slackware in 1994 I spent a lot of time tinkering. I am through with that now.
I haven't seen any description of an immutable distro that has given me the impression that I would want to use it. I install a Debian stable GNOME desktop and some extra applications via apt. Then I get on with my work. I don't have to worry about rolling back to stable environments because updates never break my system.
