Really sad to hear them closing up shop! I used Loosecubes a few times to find space at TheAlley in midtown. Perhaps they had trouble monetizing? They certainly had loyal regulars such as myself posting reviews... shocking to hear they went under.

Hey guys - I'm sorry for the plug, but I recently built a website called Qiirk.com which is a tech job board.

If you'd like, you can post your job for free using the promo HACKERNEWS. Let me know if you have any problems!

It's an interesting concept and I like where you're headed w/ the design. This could be interesting if you could build it out in a highly concentrated area such as NYC. Can you add Google Maps and make it location based?

Another thing you can work on is pictures. If someone is "Selling a Wacom Bamboo usb tablet for 40 bucks", I'd like to see what it looks like beforehand. Once you have traction, maybe you could create a partnership w/ Bit.ly. How about seller ratings and history?

Interesting concept and with the right execution, I think you can make it work.

Not a big fan for the design here. You might want to spend a few hundred bucks to make the homepage modern. Building collages is an interesting idea, but you need to put in the time, effort and resources to make people want to use it. Try 99designs.com for that

You might also want to change the name. It's not fun to pronounce. Just my two cents!

Marketing - by far the most difficult phase to tackle if you don't have experience with it. Breaking through the noise is a major factor to success.

I'd try explaining what you do in a clear and concise sentence which should headline your landing page. A good indicator is whether or not a young child can understand it. Basically if users are confused, they won't stay and obviously won't sign up (even if it's free). Good luck!

Yes I've been thinking of partnerships I could propose.

I agree that the design is so-so. There's still much I want to fix/add/subtract.

Thx for the feedback Dylan!!

Thx for the feedback. Yeah I really don't want people's Driver's Licenses - I just wanted to be able to let people access the site without having a corporate or student email address. If I just open it up to all email accounts, it'll be just as spammy as Craigslist.

You're definitely right about the design also. thx again.

I think it looks pretty good. The best landing pages are the ones that simply explain the idea. Perhaps you could create a short video to let us know how it works once you launch.

I really like the idea that you want to consolidate all these categories into a central hub. Like others said earlier, the landing page info is a bit too much. Perhaps you could try using shorter sentences and keep it to 1-2 paragraphs (1 being preferable).

An upvote system would be incredibly useful also. I don't really care about some of the news generated at the top and I'd like to look at what others found useful. Just my thoughts - good luck to ya!
