I know, it seems it is fairly large operation however, if it wasn't I would assume it was a PR stunt.
This is definitely not worth doing for small scale operations. As far as I know there is no generic solution for doing this kind of thing (I used to work in the area, but not directly on the BMS systems).
Nobody sane would move their optimized mining operation constantly across various AirBnBs. It is hard to setup, very noisy, generates a ton of heat which, without proper cooling, does not make any money.
Reading the threads seems like I am the only one welcoming this change. The amount of scammers taking advantage of the way usernames worked before was getting out of hand. Especially since when you could paid to have a custom number. Lot of people could not differentiate between RandomJoe#4587 and RandomJoe#4597.
I don't think making the usernames randomjoe4587 and randomjoe4597 is going to be much of an improvement in this case. If anything, its harder to read.
I think you're missing the point a little. Which is that for this to 'work' in any meaningful sense, it has to be scaled up to a planetary level of significant dispersion. This will almost certainly have consequences which we can't model, because of the scale. What does it mean to block out the sun across the whole planet? Photosynthesis on which we all rely to survive, needs sunlight. Even small changes can have dramatic effects on plant growth etc. It's a crazy idea, dreamed up by scientists who read too much science fiction.
- You don't have to rebuy games for a premium if you already used steam before
- Synced saves with your PC if the game supports it
- Great performance for a handheld with a solid battery
- Great variety of inputs, and almost everything can be customizable (if you don't fancy the official button layouts there is a community coming up with custom ones)
- You can turn it into a regular computer if needed
- It is big enough to hold for my hands. With Switch or iPad my hands hurt after a while, not with steam deck.
- Repair-ability it is actually easy to fix
- You can download emulators for switch, gameboy and all the other older consoles
- I enjoy some games more on the deck then on the desktop
I love mine and I consider it to be the best purchase I made this year. By far.
Agree. I have so many problems with my Mac Mini it is by far the worst device I ever owned.
- It randomly disconnects bluetooth for 30-40s. Especially annoying during calls. When your headset & keyboard stop working and you don't have a way of make anyone know.
- The processor goes full throttle out of blue. Makes my fan go 100% for good 5-10 minutes.
- From time to time it refuses to wake up my monitor and I need to force shut down it.
