That isn't correct since 2008. Two have:

• 2008-13 PPP-led coalition government, which transferred power to the

• 2013-18 PML(N) government, which transferred power to the

• 2018-22 PTI (Khan's party) government, which was ousted in its penultimate year by a vote of no-confidence in the National Assembly.

0. zardari inherits power after his wife's assassination

1. PPP-led coalition government ousted in scandal of zardari's corruption. "mister ten percent", etc

2. nawaz sharif government ousted in scandal of nawaz sharif corruption (maybe that choice of microsoft word fonts in the faked documents for luxury UK real estate was not the best idea ever).

3. people finally "elected" khan

4. khan loses power in parliamentary no confidence vote

none of those are exactly what an outsider would consider to be the normal and orderly transfer of power in an electoral system

Sure, but I am arguing the strictly technical definition of terms completed by and power transferred between civilian governments.

My own opinion: democracy is hardly a boolean value -- these transfers, faulty and flawed as they may be, did legitimize civilian rule in the public eye.

I think the claim that was being made was that no prime minister has completed a term in office.(5 years)

For your first bullet, the prime minister was kicked out after just over 4 years.

For your second bullet, the prime minister was kicked out after just over 4 years.

For the third bullet, Imran Khan didn't even last 4 years.

I am well-aware (I live here!) but that is an entirely different claim, and is indeed unfortunately a higher standard Pakistani politics has not yet met.

To dedicate your life to your father's work, to forgo carving your own path, and at great risk of carrying blame for tarnishing Tolkien's legacy, and still earning praise for it -- I don't think the money offsets it by much.

Exactly, Tolkien also got paid, but no one could claim he did it for the money. Both hid and the work of his son to preserve and share his legacy were labors of love.

For something completely different, but the same here is a YouTube clip of Billy Strings playing with his dad, a very similar dynamic here: https://youtu.be/_6U6NCvOfl8

I doubt the sum total of royalties for the work released by Christopher Tolkien amounts to even a single percent of those for the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, even if you include The Silmarillion. He could just have leaned back and counted the checks incoming.

Karl Marx.

Thanks. Obvious once pointed out :-)
