Being able to ask questions to an LLM copilot about patterns across several billion rows, 140GB of time series data, like how the market reacts 15 minutes, 1 day, and 1 week after Federal Reserve press releases, using time_bucket() and other aggregation functions with compressed chunks, and having the copilot generate the queries and run them fast, is going to be game changing. I can ask to write a script to scrape the press releases, to run them through another agent to classify them (hawk, dove) and use that information in the time series analysis.
Even though that exploration has not produced any actionable, tradable results for me, which is why I am sharing it, eventually TimescaleDB will be one of the most important tools in fields like medical research. A researcher will be able to ask in natural language for statistically significant patterns in the data, and LLM agents will query it quickly while taking advantage of all the TimescaleDB optimizations.

While the job description mentions "4-day 10-hour night shift from 7am - 5pm IST (1:30am to 11:30am UTC) Friday-Monday", the questionnaire for submission mentions "4-day 10-hour night shift from 11pm - 9am IST (4:30pm to 2:30am UTC) Friday-Monday". Might be worth rectifying.

Timescale is continuing to grow rapidly, and we’re hiring for many roles involving distributed systems and databases.
Timescale extends PostgreSQL to handle relational data, time-series, events, real-time analytics, and vector search in a single application database. It’s built for data-heavy, mission-critical apps while retaining the familiarity and reliability of Postgres. Ideal for IoT, crypto, finance, SaaS, and more.
Database code all available on github; we don’t have any “enterprise versions”, so all our database code is available for the community for free. Currently, see more than 3 million databases running TimescaleDB a month.
That’s because our commercial focus is on our fully-managed cloud platform, so in addition to folks implementing the core database (C, Rust), we’re also heavily hiring for folks with operational cloud & database experience at scale (Kubernetes with custom k8s operators, Golang, etc), as well as folks interested in providing highly technical support, database release engineering, and building database testing infrastructure (think performance analysis, distributed database correctness testing, etc.) And product folks to support these efforts & all our users!
