Graduated high school almost at the bottom of my class, nearly didn't graduate. Working out changed my life. I recently graduated summa cum laude with my degree in data science while working multiple jobs, taking on a minimum of 18 credits each semester. Some of my best semesters were when I was extra consistent with my workout routine.
I would agree that the putting goggles over your face is absurd and it will never be a hit, not in a million years. However! Having that proof of concept to be able to manipulate your environment with just a gesture of your fingers and simply by looking at something - this I believe can be extended to external cameras, screens, and all sorts of IoT devices.
I personally think that scientific papers offer a lot of good ideas. They will often talk about what useful applications that certain mathematical concepts have and the state of the art of what can be done with a certain technology, you will be amazed how many applications there are for something as simple as linear regression. A lot of the times they will outright publish open source libraries that have achieved state of the art performance in certain specific applications and can be integrated in your own product demo.
Also, watch some lectures (and do problems if you really want to understand the material) from MIT open courseware on challenging subjects like Linear Algebra or Statistical Inferencing. If you can combine fields from web crawling/page ranking and linear algebra (like Google did), you could have a really great idea.
I wonder if this is a good use case for deep learning. I am wondering if you rely completely on images or, in some cases, does it boil down to things that images cannot portray? Like texture, weight, flexibility, etc.?
Nothing that complicated. And it's not because I haven't explored that option
If anybody reading this is able to create something that can reach 99%+ accuracy in terms of authenticating items, I've (obvious in the post) got the distribution and the audience to sell this to — DMs always open if you've got something solid
Currently it's a fully manual process.
We have competitors claiming they're 'using AI' but it's a bullshit gimmick for the masses of users. Unless an 'AI' is having 99%+ accuracy, it's probably too risky to implement
I used Adderall everyday for a year, and I would generally recommend people stay away from it if they can unless you have extreme ADD/ADHD. I know that a lot of people are saying that it changed their lives and in fact, it helped me to understand how far I could push my mind and body to its productivity limits, which helps me be productive today. However, as mentioned in some of the other comments, it makes you angry and I have lost many friends and closed many doors socially. I also would not say that I was actually more purposeful in my daily activities. Meaning, I may have been able to produce more mental and physical output but like you mention, I would fixate on lots of unnecessary things that ultimately put me behind in what I wanted to accomplish over the course of a year or even who I wanted to be as a person.
I read a book that talked about how negative ion environments make you feel better. I believe Nikola Tesla even wrote about this while experimenting with some device that created negative ions. Places like niagara falls and natural water-related environments (waterfalls, riversides, beaches) have some of the highest negative ion concentrations while air conditioned environments have some of the lowest.
