clean code is a c-level/exec/sales term. No one who actually writes code truly believes in clean code.

Off topic but why do people still write on medium and share on HN? Its paywalled and most people will not be able to read the post

You can just open the link in incognito mode! Also, sorry, I guess I should have posted the friend link instead that doesn't ask to subscribe, but I can't change it after posting! But here's the non paywall link: https://axu2.medium.com/solved-by-1440p-hidpi-macbook-pro-16...

It's not good, but it's not bad, it's kind of medium?

True(ly) funny.

The author can choose to have articles in front of the paywall. I believe it defaults to behind the paywall, and if you want the Medium aggregators to be able to share your piece, it has to be behind the paywall.

Basically the tradeoff is to have better circulation among subscribers or non-subscribers. I always choose the latter.

I find the use of evidence concerning. Software engineering best practices should be established by highly educated academics (Phds etc).

What are you trying to say? I honestly can't tell.

It sounds like you're saying that PhDs should decide what best practices are, without regard for evidence. If so, that had better be sarcasm, because it's patently absurd.

If your point was something else, could you clarify?

I assumed they were being sarcastic. Perhaps a reference to groups like the SEI (Software Engineering Institute).

That was subtle for most people to pick up on. Congrats!

I am currently making a reaction video to Mozilla's reaction to U.S vs. Google. Coming soon!

I expect an Asmongold reaction to your video as soon as you release it.
