Piracy websites dont sell my data on what i like to watch.

They are good to avoid government surveillance.

How do you know what piracy websites do or don't do with your data?

It's hard to do anything with data you don't have in the first place.

I imagine they don't ask for it and they can't really force you to give it up so it's... better

Great for surveillance.

One can get someones browsing history from an ISP from a data broker and run queries on it.

Digital society under government surveillance is like that Marina Abromovic performance where they were free to do whatever they wanted with her while she couldnt react and they tried to kill her. If you enable the police, you just find they are a bunch of barely held back sadists.

Welp I'd love to learn how to make it more privacy preserving. We make it easy to run your own, but intelligence service can MITL the TLS connection.

I heard this at university from my professors, and I hated it so much, not just because I hate writing by hand, but because it never had any benefit for me.

In fact, writing by hand prevented me from paying attention, because I was writing nonstop with no pause to think. Instead, I didnt write anything, and got photocopies, improving my learning and grades.

The chicken sandwiches are tastier? This is paid influencer Chinese propaganda.

In other words, they won.

And controlled by megacorps and governments.

Wasnt there a whole genre of scifi warning us about this?

Instead of blaming corporations for following the law, blame the laws and the government for what they force others to do.

It is not up to corporations to decide which laws should be enforced, and this again shows how futile this specific kind of corporate resistence is.

Just change the law.

Women leave more book reviews at Goodreads.

So? They have a bad argument for not including LAN, IMO.

Also, LAN parties.

They should be nowhere.

How do we catch the criminals, or prove liability during a crash, then?

How do we now catch criminals?

How do we now prove liability in cars that don't have cameras pointed inward at the occupants, recording and sending to random anonymous viewers at tesla?
