A criticism of moral realism

The absurd statement is not decolonization but the implied causal graph, which is not a DAG, incidentally, as it is cyclical.

It's explicitly a DAG [0]. And, there's nothing absurd in the graph that I can see.

Curious, what makes you think it's cyclical? As far I understand, it's only a cyclical graph if the loops are closed, which they are very clearly not here.

It is common to see people posting absurd beliefs/political takes on social media. One likely reason is that absurd/radical beliefs in the direction of your group's positions give credibility to your commitment to your group.

For 30 years psychologists and behavioural economists dismissed the "hot hand," the idea that basketball players get better at shooting after a streak of success. As it happens, the academics were wrong all along. The hot hand is real.

Psychologists assumed too quickly that the hot hand was just a cognitive illusion. Statistics shows it is real.

We have uncovered enough behavioural biases. It's time to understand where they come from.
