Interestingly, the map they use shows Crimea as part of Ukraine.

The article must be tailored to the foreigner audience since there doesn't seem to be an equivalent one in the Russian version of their website.

I've flagged this post for obviously false information. This is just to obfuscate/hide the referrer which could contain the search query.

A simple search would have yielded this answer but yet you chose to make this damaging statement without any due diligence.

Isn't this the case for every major OS? I know FreeBSD device drivers can be (un)loaded on-the-fly. Same for MacOS. I assume it's also possible in Linux(?)

It is. I believe you use

  modprobe -r kernel_module_name
to unload a kernel module and

  modprobe kernel_module_name
to load it.

Linux lets you disable dynamic modules. OpenBSD removed support for them some years ago.

macOS doesn't let you load kexts anymore since it's less important with drivers moving to userspace.

Does it work in China? Can a website hosted in ipfs be blocked by them?

To make it worse, the "As a European" is usually followed by a very judgemental or even arrogant statement. As we, the enlightened, don't understand those hillbilly politics.

What does the OP not understand? The concern of China controlling key economic and tech areas? OR that a president can block a company from operating in his country?

As a European, I might not agree with the decision but I do understand the general concern behind it.

Nice excuse for being cheap. Is Sublime unstable or lacking any major feature? Why the pressure of getting more regular updates if there's not anything critical missing. On the contrary, it has a lot of features, there's a massive eco system of plugins for it.

Do you use Sublime for work? If so, you should pay for it. Any other excuse is just you, being cheap. $70 is nothing for it offers.

He's not saying "I would never pay for a text editor, that's ridiculous!", he's saying $70 is just a little steep for a text editor. What exactly is it offering that makes it worth $70 vs something more reasonable?

Panic's Coda is priced similarly, but it also offers a lot of web-dev targeted features that other editors either don't provide or only provide less user-friendly plugins for

When you strip out plugins made by someone who isn't getting a cut of that $70, what are the tangible features Sublime has over the glut of free editors out there?

Maybe not to you that much unless you plan on travelling abroad... but it is for me. I live in the eurozone and get paid mostly in USD. I'm a freelancer and most of my clients are in the US

To clarify - things abroad become relatively cheaper to Americans (or USD holders). This also applies if you purchase things imported from other countries.

Well... this is not really your business, is it? If your friend does not like it, he can easily leave. I do not see the problem here.

If you were my friend and I found out that you have been asking this sort of stuff behind my back on such public forum like this, plus, potentially jeopardizing my chances of getting a job since it's not that hard to figure out which company you're talking about, I'd tell you to go take a hike.

...and this is one of the many reasons that any organization that does care about security "still" uses BlackBerry

Are you crazy? What are you going to suggest next? Blinds?!
