Yes. There does not seem to be any dispute that it is a copy. The questions have been "is this copying okay, because it falls under fair use?"

It's horribly in bad faith. There's no guns here. Never once in my years of copyright litigation, law school, etc, did your scenario come up and it is not relevant to any considerations being made here or by courts currently.

Did they teach you what a thought experiment was in law school?

No, what's that?

>Can't one argue that because they had to jailbreak the models, they are circumventing the system that protects the copyright?

Probably not with credibility as the jail does not exist to prevent copyright infringement.

Just because someone doesn't get arrested does not mean something is legal

>The defense to training with copyright is that it is the same as how humans learn from copyrighted material.

Yeah, it's something people say but it is severely lacking in evidence and credibility.

>Obvious example: Polymarket now has 69(!) markets involving Iran: https://polymarket.com/predictions/iran

You have not conveyed what information is thought by insiders in your example

Why have police? Why have firefighters? Why have EMS?

> pot calling the kettle black with that snarky little comment of yours

Well I saw what you wrote before it was flagged and the irony of this statement will be beyond anyone else reading this now.

that’s life for you. do something, look stupid, get laughed at, shrug.

i usually don’t care about the opinion of people on a computer nerd forum, but i felt the need to yell at them.

I do realize it’s hypocritical of me to call them out for calling me out for making snarky comments, but the best part about being human is hypocrisy.

Seems more like that thing where an asshole somehow thinks its everyone else in the world that's an asshole, but it has just really been them the entire time.

Why?

So why pretend like you wouldn't have taken the job in the first place?

Because when I got hired at Google, they gave me a choice of several different teams to join. I was naive and didn't ask the right questions.

And?
