They are slow so they have to work hours to complete what would take a smart person minutes. So they can “look” like they are working harder. But you are right. Now that I think of it, never met a dumb hard working person. That’s why I do not think AI will make any dumb person smarter by “personalize” learning experience. How many dumb people do you think are using ChatGPT to satisfy their “curiosity”?

"the fairness wonks"

Apple Music definitely sounds better when paired with Airpods to my ears compared to Spotify. Am I imagining?

I don't think you are. My knowledge may be outdated but Spotify uses a lower bitrate than Apple Music (which can go up to lossless) and the Airpods supports that lossless, too.

Get a sleep test. It turned out that I had severe sleep apnea and using cPap has been god send. I rarely dreamed before cPap, but now I dream almost everyday and dreams are vivid too.

If you're doubtful about getting a sleep test, set up a camera to record your sleep.

Events that should trigger you getting a sleep study: long pauses between breaths. Snoring. Gasping. Touching your face with your hands while asleep.

a bit off topic, how much time does your spouse spend on Facebook? I just peeked at her iPhone time tracking thingy and it's 26 hours a week. That sounds crazy to me. The scarier thing is that she doesn't see anything wrong with it. But I can't say anything to her; I chose being happy than being right. But then again not very happy either. Oh well.

Don’t know you so take this with a grain of salt, but personally if I could not discuss how we spend that much of our time with my spouse, I would feel that we had a fundamental problem with the way we communicate. You should also be talking about how you are not that happy. Maybe it is related to other things left unsaid.

That is quite a deal of time that you all are choosing as a couple to spend on FB instead of in person.

For my spouse and I, we quit FB a few years ago (for similar reasons - mindlessly scrolling, fomo and jealous feelings about others, watching everyone’s highlight reel instead of real life.) We did the same with IG and Reddit. Now I read HN and she IGs/YouTubes some for her business, and we spend the rest of our time away from social media, playing games, making art, reading, working, etc.

Thanks for the input. It makes sense.

After my horrible Pixel Buds 2, I am done with Google hardware.

What's wrong with them?

My experience:

A LOUD, constant hissing and crackling noise when nothing's playing (also audible during podcasts or quiet music). Like 3x worse than my $40 truly wireless buds.

They are buggy. They would sometimes disconnect with no way to reconnect, requiring a factory reset (which you need the case to do).

It's too bad, in a lot of way's they're better than the AirPods. I prefer the "open audio" design to the transparency mode even, and they're more comfortable and secure in the ears.

unusable outdoor.

were they that bad? I was looking at them, but the price was just too high for me.

You nailed it. I am still trying to figure out what his take is on Covid-19. He doesn't seem to offer any concrete solution/opinion to anything really.

Thank you for this. I will watch this scene whenever I act as if I "own" my kids.
