He lives in a very different society from you and me. Not saying you don't know this, but it's staggering that so many people don't realize how different the world is for billionaires and the rest. I know few can experience this first hand, but it's not difficult to read/see/understand that the difference is vast.
If and when aliens ever land, I think the difference between them and us will be smaller than between us and the 0.01%.
Parent mentioned not using the Play Store or the Apple Store. The hardware Graphene runs on is kind of irrelevant for that. I don't see a problem with paying Google for hardware that I am free to use as I like; unlike other manufacturers the bootloader is unlockable, which means the stock OS can be replaced.
Requiring a device from the same manufacturer as the OS as the only way to be free: there is really nothing you see contradictive in that? I mean, power to you!
This is why I like Dutch road design, there's a legally required minimum (I think it's 200m, but 300m is more common) for onramps, and we are taught not to merge before you've reached the maximum speed on the road you're merging too, so that you cause minimal disturbance to the traffic currently there. (Think like a zipper.)
I live near the border with Germany, and these guys are used to short ramps and so just merge well below the speed other traffic are going, expecting others to yield. (And many locals also drive like that unfortunately.) So uncivilized.
I played the GTA I demo to death after hours at school... 320x240 without any hardware acceleration, but I drove those streets err'y day for what feels like years but probably was months. I think adults did not really realize what kind of game it was. Me neither.
