Spotify can talk once they actually support the Apple Platform fully. They cried constantly about Homepod having a closed API but now that it’s open they are in no hurry to implement those APIs.
Wish Kagi just focused on Search. I don't see how building both a search engine and a browser is possible with a startup team. I tried Orion a lot of times but there's still too many bugs for me to switch over from Arc.
I, too, found it buggy, but I don’t agree that they should only focus on search. Chrome is proof of how important a search engine is to a browser, and vice versa.
We should welcome browser competition to fight against Google’s dominance, and if there’s a company I trust to have my best interests in mind for this job it’s Kagi.
Germany is not losing out on anything. It is simply structured so that there are no large public companies. A private german grocery store is taking over the US. There‘s a bunch of specialized companies producing stuff like Zeiss doing lenses for ASML. This is more or less just spurred by doomer rhetoric.
That's absurd, there are many large corporations in Germany, including VW, BMW, SAP, Deutsche Telekom, Siemens, Bosch. A lot of the Mittelstand is also directly dependent on those large corps as their subcontractors.
I think in this case it's much like the difference between understanding what Pokemon are, and actively playing each game so you know the names of most Pokemon.
