What a brilliant billing and account interaction interface. I legitimately wanted to build something like this for a transactional SMS provider where it would all be provisioned, managed, configured on the CLI. Do you have any tips on how you built this out so elegantly?
Would love a SMS provider that was simple to use. Have used twilio in the past and every time I come back it, it feels like they've added yet another layer of abstraction to the process.
But I suspect that spam and abuse means that becoming an SMS customer is going to have to be complex. Though just the ability to automate SMS msgs to a few pre-defined and verified numbers would be valuable and negate spam risk.
I have been derelict in my CEO duties and have been building features in Claude Code the past few weeks and it's been amazing. I've given myself until December 31st to go down the developer path and these increased usage limits are going to be awesome.
I hope that there will be lots of new SHOWN HN projects that manifest because of these increased limits, and that we all get to vibe through the holiday season.
I've been using Onyx (and Danswer before it) for over a year, and I'd push back on this.
We have Freshdesk, Bookstack, Google Drive, YouTrack, and Slack all connected. It seamlessly answers questions like:
"What's Max's GitHub username?"
"I need wire transfer instructions for an incoming wire"
We also index competitors' helpdesks and KB articles to track new features they're rolling out.
Our tech support team uses it daily because Freshdesk's AI is terrible and their internal KB search is lackluster. Onyx actually finds things.
The value isn't in being "one chat to rule them all" — it's in unified search across disparate systems with citations. That's not getting commoditized anytime soon.
Keep up the good work, team.
Forwarding emails is problematic especially if your provider for the primary mx does not have great spam filtering and then you end up sending spam to your backup account.
It certainly does not get around the ...if your account gets banned maybe the forwards will still work... concept but in general something like https://github.com/joeyates/imap-backup to backup your email and then add them to a typical backup process with your other files works well.
Why not archive vs. the destructive delete. There is a risk of misclassification to promotion and then 2 days later delete. Seems like a default aggressive stance.
i thought about doing that but for this email account specifically, i hadn't used it in years and the storage is full and haven't been able top receive any emails isnce last Aug. so thought to delete since they're old and probably not important anymore.
i can definitely add an archive tool and pass that to the agent and remove the delete tool.
Is there any solution for statement downloading, like many small businesses I have credit card statements, bank accounts that I need to provide to my accountant.
While my "books" are synced via Quickbooks, they (accountants) really seem to love having the PDF in hand. I just need the PDFs and they do not send them via email...
Hi - I'm working on something like this because I needed it too ;-)
It's not yet ready for release, but I should be ready for beta-test within 2 months. If you're interested I would be happy to add you to my list of "people to notify when I am ready to beta test"
