What does "diversity" look like? (IHNFC)

What sort of "equality" (as opposed to equity) does it impose? (ie closing of men's sports programs)

It seems like either path goes down the road of victimhood hierarchy, SJWs and discrimination due to identity politics while ignoring merit of substance. Count me out of that crybully nonsense.

The trouble with echo-chamber platforms is they preach to the choir by reinforcing biases, beliefs and wedge issues, further dividing and conquering society into various polarized, separate subcultures. There ought to be a microblog platform that supports written debate of every belief, such that arguments can be settled online rather than spill over into the real world. The powers that be love it when the "little people" argue over abortion, climate change, separation of church and state, criminal justice, the War on Drugs, et cetera ad infinitum. Without civilized debate, a civilized society is impossible.

1920's all over again. Civil wars to follow.

Staggering similarities, I was thinking the same thing. A friend was saying that people have the ability to see the future and that is as easy as reading history. People are so predictive that their mistakes are like patterns

I'd like to see America regulate chemicals too as they are in Scandinavia, such as requiring evidence proving their safety, but legislation such as TSCA grandfathered in thousands of compounds with zero safety data. If you think you're going to get a crumb from the klepto-plutocrats' table, I think you're gonna need a straight-jacket and a padded room.

People are still dumb enough that they willingly hand over their contact details for a "prize" car or something that no one ever wins in order for some company to sell their details to be nonstop marketed to. And post-Equifax, it's easier than ever to steal a person's identity by opening accounts in their name without them figuring out until collections come calling.

When/if political winds shift far enough, then it might be possible for Americans to gain identity protections as stringent as Germany's. Until then, Americans will continue being screwed and lied to, and it's their fault for being too compliant and not demanding better leadership.

Not with Ajit Pai and the rest of the cronies dynamiting government. This is just wishful thinking so long as billionaires run the politics in America. Changing that, which means tempering the timeless interests of the rich aristocracy to control everything for their exclusive benefit, is a precondition to any meaningful, major overhaul that doesn't benefit them. Otherwise, suggesting such would be waiting for Godot.

Software is replacing human labor and destroying livelihoods while the enablers rationalize it with the usual jingoist propaganda of "freeing up labor" and "better jobs elsewhere," yeah right, just like trickle-down economics. The ultimate conclusion will be software that writes itself as AI grows to encompass the design of systems, no longer needing human coders as the final raft of coders works themselves out of a job.

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a home at Lake Arrowhead in Texas. On the way to or from town, we came upon a tarantula migration with around a hundred thousand tarantulas crossing the road.. so many you couldn't see any land without them. My grandmother (smh) opened the car door to gawk at them, which is dumb because they can rub those fiberglass-like hairs off their bodies as a defense mechanism.

Where I'm at in Chico, CA has hundred or thousands of black widows... you definitely don't put gloves on without shaking or rolling them up.

LRPD is exactly like Information Retrieval: saw a hole in the ceiling, blast a door down and shatter some random person's life to make statistics.

If QC were able to factor primes, discover alternative inversions of noninvertible matrices... the obvious uses would be monetization, hacking and other legal and illegal crimes: crypto mining and hacking banking and finance.
