It's not much of a bet really. In the old days if a general got it wrong he would die on the battlefield if he was lucky or get shot before a firing squad.

These AI clowns will still have their mansions come what may.

How many Americans even have money for retirement?

It reminds me of 1990s Russia were the smart people didn't get caught up in capitalism casino and just kept tending their vegetable garden like they had done for centuries.

To quote Bob Dylan

"If you ain't got nothing you got nothing to lose"

About half of Americans have zero retirement savings

Virtually no one under the age of 18 has any. So that's a lot of Americans. Should they have any?

this while factually correct probably requires age distribution. I did not have a penny saved for retirement until I hit mid-to-late-30's. I am 50 now and can retire comfortably today

The median for ages 45-54 is 115,000, for 55-64 185,000

Ha. Most people didn't have any money to get into the crony/gangster capitalism. Just peasants with their vegetable gardens. How many American have vegetable gardens?

Seems to me the current administration is at war with approximately half the population.

population of Chicago or America or World ?

Yes.

I remember when I first saw little girls with Blackberries. It was quite strange.

In the class room? No. But students could smoke during breaks at the schoolyard.

Funny that we as a society were winning for a while until somebody invented vapes.

Pods are easy to use which is why they were invented. In fact my washing machine doesn't even have a tray to put powder in anymore.

Hell I have a premium Netflix and premium Spotify account that I don't even use very often.

Gabe Newell was right. I subscribed to those on my phone without having to go out of the house. It was just a few touches.

People keep harping on about the evil Chinese but they seem distinctly less interested in our internal affairs than US billionaires.

I'm not really worried for my own country though. Nobody here ever pointed to the US and said "I want that".

How many statues of John Brown are there?

It seems to me that most companies realised that trying to stop piracy costs more than it saves.

You see this with videogames were they remove Denuvo DRM after a year.
