Are there special circumstances with the openAI board? For a normal company the board is supposed to represent the interests of investors. If investors ask for him back the board should comply. Who's interests are the OpenAI board representing?

Yes, see below.

OpenAI has a weird charter which mandates the board to uphold a fiduciary duty not to the shareholders but rather to being "broadly beneficial". This is very uncommon. It means that the board is fiscally required to uphold safety above all else; if they don't, the board members could get sued. The most likely person to fund such a lawsuit would be Elon, who donated a lot of money to the non-profit side of OpenAI.
Here's the OpenAI page which explains this unique charter:

Do you personally know how much your employer pays in tax to employ you? I bet most people dont have any idea. I just had to look it up myself. I would never know if the rate changed provided I didnt read about it in the paper.
I can see it on my paystub, it has a nice breakdown of where everything goes.
I’d argue you could do the same with anything, in the case of restaurants just show the actual total on the menu and include a breakdown on the receipt so people who care can see how much is going to taxes and such.
Your paystub or W-2 show how much tax YOU are paying. Social security is two-sided, you pay half and the employer pays half, unless you know that already, the paycheck itself doesn't say so. There are also additional types of taxes, such as unemployment, the employer pays that aren't shown on your pay stub.
Musk is defaulting, student loan forgiveness is the taxpayer picking up the tab. A better question would be if those people think students should be able to default on their loans.

Of all the doctors I personally know, only one was interested in working in such a practice (let alone owning one). Where is the existing doctor going to find other doctors to partner with? Especially when they can get paid more to work elsewhere?
