If that is in the snow, with 4 winter tires then yes, I tend to agree.

I really have driven that fast on snow covered roads. I also attended most of the formula car racing schools in the US and One in Canada, I also have extensive skid pad and slidecar training and experience I have numerous wins in both dry and rain and I have beaten professional racing instructors... I was also offered a professional racing contract. So for me that was safe to do.

Child prodigy and future Formula One pilot also follows a similar regimen...

After years of being a Very Successful illegal street racer, I finally had the money to attend professional racing schools and then enter open wheel Formula Cars races. To be clear, I street raced in and around NYC late at night and alone because I would not risk any of my friends lives in the event of the worst outcome that is Always possible.

I can remember drives I have taken years and years later. Going fast is my thing and has been since I was 6 years old. However if you ask me about my first organized Formula Car race: I have virtually No Memory of those 20 or so minutes of my life... I remember the warmup lap and the green flag but thats about it.

It took a while and a lot of effort but yes I did eventually dominate on the track. I won races, poles, fastest laps and I was offered the chance to turn pro... I mention this only to give credence to the oddities that Stress and/or Fear have on memory.

So now when I hear reports of Police in shootouts Not Remembering what happened... I UNDERSTAND.

This is why I remember the things I learned in university while stressed out studying for exams, but don't remember things learned without stress.

I think a bit of stress is healthy for retention.

Formula Car races and Police Shootouts are notoriously low-stress situations.

Hey, why not have other solutions.

Hate to thread jump--but I just Posted this vid in a thread I started. Titled: Does your self-driving car understand Walter's footwork

https://youtu.be/wqREtbLe4sY

Extremely High speed precision driving is possible Only because of footwork. Walter is just UnFrickenBelievable: Left foot braking. Heel and Toeing. And playing the Throttle to both catch slides And create them to--rotate the car into the corners.

PS: In the silicon valley vid the Tesla is in the middle of its lane most of the time. That makes zero sense.

Also it passed by that U-haul truck which was at a 45 degree angle pointing right at it. The smart move would have been to get into the left lane and thereby making it impossible to be hit by either the U-haul Or another vehicle in front of the U-haul which would have been hidden from view.

Driving is both Science and Art. I doubt if "they" have any clue about this fact. I really do.

* Note: I'm the OP btw. And yes I understand Walter's footwork.

>> These remedies just aren't realistic for a large number of third shift workers.

Its difficult to explain to people who live in cities how different things are in the suburbs. There's no street lights or even Sidewalks where I live. There is No Public transportation in off-peak hours, none. And ride-share... with who--someone who lives miles away from you?? What about in the snow when its a bitch to just get your own ass in on time.

This the reality for millions and millions of people in the US.

I work for a Huge healthcare corporation; they own 23 hospitals and employ over 60,000 people. Yet lunch breaks are 30 minutes long--an Adult can not eat a healthy meal in 30 minutes, a 6 year probably could though, they require far less food than a grown man.

They also constantly promote walking as a real form of exercise---which is a joke. You have to workout to be healthy: working out, in case you don't know, is painful and it makes you smell bad; but there is No substitute.

I have Vastly different and Very fond memories of Motels from my teenage years: firstly with my future soon to be ex-wife; and later some of her "surrogates". Just sayin.
