You can also just directly connect to containers using Tailscale if it's just for internal use. That is, having an internally addressable `https://container_name` on your tailnet per-container if you want. This way I can setup Immich for example and it's just on my tailnet at `https://immich` without the need for a reverse proxy, etc...
I think this is pretty neat. Even if you don’t use it for a SaaS company I think it’s great to try your hand at making a known product.
This may also be something fun for late-college-students to do in order to brush up on their skills and to dive deep into tech that they may use in the future.
Thanks, yes it's definitely not meant to be a product, I just made it because I had lots of questions about how S3 worked under the hood. I'm still finishing the documentation but a college student could just follow the commands line by line and they should end up with the same system, it wasn't easy to get running
> Because of their no DRM policy and full on downloads, not just streaming, Bandcamp has basically become the only place I’ll buy music outside of CDs.
>Unsure how I feel about TechCrunch just summarizing another source's article like this.
Do you just feel that way about Techcrunch or in general? Because that behaviour is blatant amongst news outlets, they report on each other's stories all. the. time.
I wouldn't say this is a detractor, based on the comment below what you quoted:
> The author of this application is not actively developing any new major features (only small fixes)
> New releases are published regularly depending on the contributions made by the community
> Pull requests for new features and bug fixes are accepted as long as the guidelines are followed
So it's more that no new features will be added by the main dev however it is still maintained. Other software like this exists (Miniflux for example) and they work well.
A Project doesn't need a constant influx of new features to be useful or even maintained.
EDIT: Turns out it's made by the miniflux dev which I respect.
In your second link, the article specifically states "McRae probably wasn’t acting as an ecosaboteur."
I don't know how you read that and came to the conclusion that "attacks by so called environmentalists" when the article comes to the opposite conclusion.
