Although I love IT and I've been a Java consultant for 20+ years, I'm getting out because the IT business has become absurd. I'm 51 now.
Instead I've certified as an Auriculotherapist (that's fancy speak for ear-acupuncture). I chance discovered auriculotherapy about 10 years ago by its potential to reduce stress by modulating the nervous system. And its been my passion since. The ear is way more than some funny cartilage sticking off your head. Its a complete map of the body with every part treatable via microscopic points on the ear surface. Kind of like a "keyboard" into the bodies "operating system".
So the IT business going batsh!t bonkers was my cue to jump out and start a new healthcare business. I regret nothing and feel that I'm now actually helping people. And people aren't getting less stressed these days.
Good luck to all when the genAI slop code needs fixing and there are no experienced dev's left.
Virginia-class has lots of screens, but they aren’t touchscreens. The control panels have physical buttons and switches which are clearly labeled, logically laid out, and are extremely tactile. There is no confirmation for anything, because it’s assumed that you received verbal confirmation of your intended action before performing it.
Conversely, they also have computers for some maintenance items, and those (intelligently) have confirmation screens everywhere, because it’s just bog-standard Windows UI. The software UI team really should talk to the control panel UI team.
Switch off everything wireless in your home before bedtime.
If you live in an apartment, you may be exposed to neighbors wireless through walls.
EMR-shielding bed canopies exist.
Try sleeping in an off-grid, no-wireless setting (cabin, in a car* in the woods etc.) and if that gets you proper sleep, you can suspect electromagnetic fields.
Also, try magnesium supplements for muscle relaxation, sleep improvement.
*= not a Tesla, obviously, which is WiFi-on-wheels.
Atlinsky is nice but he's kind of tepid and Western anti-violentist/ Western nationalist. So he can't speak about situations where military resistance is necessary, such as resistance against fascism or dictatorship. These can inoculate themselves against alinskian shock provocation tactics by using brutality and propaganda.
In order to understand the proper use of violentism/militarism and the, ethical high ground against a dominant enemy, I recommend Che Guevara's "Guerilla Warfare". It introduces the moral high ground, the national good, the organization, the economics, and the field tactics of strike and retreat, giving units quotas of cane crops to burn, etc.
Please read Che's letters as well - "I Embrace You with All My Revolutionary Fervor: Letters 1947-1967". They will show the human behind the tactics.
Both books are on the audiobook bay, along with alinsky. They provide a perfect counterpoint to alinsky.
As we enter an era of American nationalist fascism, alinskian tactics might need to give way to queer inclusivist cyber guerilla tactics. For a Just and Libre Society! We can win!
