> My first thought was how easy my wife could get this on my phone (or vice versa)

That was your first thought? I guess it's time get a divorce lawyer. Regardless, it's really that easy? Why don't you have your phone locked?

We detached this subthread from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13714992 and marked it off-topic.

She can go through my phone anytime she wants. But maybe I don't want her to see me tell a user to go fuck himself... hard:) because he decided to project his SJW personal issues or warped interpretations onto a single sentence from a benign comment covering a number of real-world use cases.

Right now, this was my first thought.

I'm not sure what was going on in this thread but you can't post like this here, so please don't do it again.

Huh? I think you replied to the wrong person as I didn't start with the personal attacks. LOL

It's not a question of who started it—everyone always feels like the other person started it (and did worse)—but of your breaking the rules. If you continue to do that, we will ban your account.

Edit: looking at your comment history I see that you've been violating HN's rules egregiously for ages, so we've banned this account. If you don't want it to be banned, you're welcome to email hn@ycombinator.com and promise to correct this in the future.

What? I would re-read the OP comment.

> There's no need for punctuation, no need to close the quote. The story is over.

Huh? That's NOT the end of the article.

Worse, somehow your comment is the most upvoted???

It's OK, Google would survive just fine... The real worry is the people who need secure communications and their survival.

Yeah, Google will survive this just fine. Signal users and activists are a higher priority than the risk to Google, since the risks in UAE aren't terribly high for them.

Blocking Google would make Dubai really look like a red headed step child, since they are trying to appeal to an international audience to do business and live in their country. Porn they are able to get away with blocking, but basic tools for business is unlikely to get blocked, especially since their competitors (Yandex & Baidu) are not popular there.

Collateral damages not in ways of Internet traffic but getting "blocked" in those regions.

Yes, we know... And?

Why do people get upset about a phone number? That's like a 1/2 step above an email address. Don't you have a Google Voice number (not on a Gmail account you use) or something for things like that?

they can and do detect VoIP numbers and reject them. I don't know about yik yak specifically but it's trivial enough that I'm sure they do it too

Is that why my comment was down voted? LOL Weird, I don't know about Yil Yak but using a Google Voice number has never been a problem before for me. Maybe I don't use the right services? People who only use a VOIP number are out of luck I guess? I take it back... I wouldn't use that service either.

Wait... You don't cook meals for your children but give them Soylent?

You talk about doing things with your kids. Sitting down with kids and eating a meal is an important family bonding time.

You analogies made no sense. The clothes and cars are get washed and fixed the same way. Soylent is NOT the same as eating real food.

newhere420 didn't mention Soylent one way or the other.

If I had to guess - and I do - I'd wager that his family just orders in or goes out for dinner more than others. And as a new parent myself, I can completely understand.

Fair point and rereading the OP post it was stated they do prepare most meals. I read it as they used to prepare most meals. If that is case they do prepare most meals what was the OP's point? No one said one had to prepare all their meals.

The title of the story should be changed... Liquid meals were mentioned but not Soylent specifically.

> I read it as they used to prepare most meals.

I did, too, at first.

Fuck a porn star? There are few things less appealing than fucking a porn star. Not without a ten foot pole anyway...

drug use is highly, highly frowned upon and performers are tested very, very regularly. porn stars are a safer bet than Tinder.

Drugs are not prevalent in the porn industry? Are you kidding? I have never read a piece on a porn star where their drug use wasn't mentioned. How do you think most of them cope with their "career" and the "fame"?

Yes, porn stars do get tested for STDs regularly which I believe is generally twice a month. What about the period in between tests? You don't know who they just fucked yesterday or earlier that day.

You must realize for every porn star who has had a long career there are 50 who lasted a minute. There are reasons for that... Yes, many just can't hack it but drug use and STDs are high on the list.

Porn stars are nasty... Period.

Depending on where in the country they are, porn stars are frequently tested twice a week, and able to provide a detailed history of who they had sex with, when.

Not nasty - damaged.

Hey, I prefer lesbian porn myself because not into watching dudes but come on... Most porn is naked woman and men having sex so not seeing dick would be kinda hard. What's wrong? The penis to titillating for you?

There is a danger you might see something? What?

Nasty, nasty porn.

Oh, no!

Enjoy your bestiality, I guess.

You sound confused son. Who was talking about bestiality?

"Nasty, nasty porn".

Do try to keep up, uh... dad?

How many more posts are you going to plug this app on? How about you make this the last one...

Point taken!

And please fix your main page.

Thanks for the heads up!
